I'm quite busy tomorrow, I might have to go there in the morning (perhaps with the help of the bus?).
Expedition
I wasn't that busy in the end, but I still went there in the forenoon before eating breakfast. I did not make it to the only convenient bus, unfortunately, so I had to cycle the entire way. It was -5 °C (my first Frozen Geohash in my fourth winter of Geohashing!), remarkably cold for December. I am quite sensitive to cold temperatures, and being outside for over an hour in this temperature is no joke – so I prepared by wearing thick woolen socks above my normal socks, a second jersey, long underwear, a thick jacket, two hoods above my beanie, a scarf over nose and cheeks, and heated gloves. Thus equipped, only my hands got cold on the 6.2 km to the hash.
(The following part was written over a month after the expedition.) When I arrived in the forest after cycling 6.2 km, I was already sweating from the many layers of clothing. At first, I cycled too far because I missed the supposed small path, so I had to backtrack and discovered that it was uncyclable. The many puddles on the path and the water in the ditch along it was completely frozen, but not enough to support my weight. I did have a lot of fun testing its thickness and crushing the frosted leaves, however. I went past the hash to the edge of the forest, where I could look onto a field white with frost (it looked like it on the field, but it had not snowed, though it would turn to snow the next day, endowing us with the first white Christmas in over a decade). The hash was located 170 m from the main path and 13 m from the small path, very near to a hunter's/forester's lookout. I took pictures with Jackie & Eagle, the climbed the lookout. On way back to my bike I took some more photos of frozen and frosted plants and the early winter landscape.
