Plans

I will drive to Burghofen and do a nice walk to the hash.

Expedition

As planned, I drove to Burghofen and parked my car at the edge of this little village and started a nice walk from there.

The way to the hash was very easy, a nice, tarred way led me always directly to the hash - only the last 500 meters went through the forest. On my way, I could enjoy some nice views on the surrounding landscape, had a little break with a few horses and appreciated the silence here, being all alone and no sounds at all...

But, short before reaching the hash, I heard the sound of a tractor and some 50 meters away from the hash, there was this farmer, collecting wood from the forest. The last meters to the hash were leading in his direction and I didn't want to disturb him or make him curious about what I am doing there, staring at my mobile phone all the time, in the middle of a cleared forest. Hm, should I wait for him to go away? Thought about this a few minutes, but guessed this may take several hours, didn't know how long he would be there. So I decided to simply get closer and closer to the hash, doing some pictures here and there, so the farmer might think I am just someone who likes to photograph insects and small plants - or something like that...

After a few minutes, either he nor I did bother about eachother, so I could spot the exact hash location, which looked like a sacrificial altar - bones and skeletons of a slaughtered animal were all around the hash - well, that's nature for real! I spotted the exact location, took proof and then got back on the path and decided to continue instead of turning around and walk the same way. Now I had a nice little walk through the woods back to Burghofen!

On my way, I came along this place that I knew from previous geocaching expeditions, where people have placed all kinds of figures in the woods over the last decades - figures of animals, dwarfs, gnomes - silent observers of those who're walking this small path... In the sunlight, this was quite idyllic and I made some nice photographs of course.

Another highlight was a great panoramic view on the village Schemmern - I made a small rest here and then walked the final way back to my car. All in all, lots of things to see today, the weather was great and I am looking forward to spring and more adventures and expeditions like this one!
