Expedition
I'm writing this up a couple months late, so I don't really remember a lot of details. Knowing it was a Tuesday, it's our Date Night so I must have asked her if she wanted to go adventuring with me after work. Doing some research beforehand, I also saw there was a very close GeoCache, but it was a 'Premium' cache so I couldn't see details on it. However, knowing the distance from the hash and the direction, I was pretty sure I would be able to find it.
We got down to the Cemetery around 18:00 and made our way over to the hash area. Unfortunately, it was in the section without gravestones, so no one wins the Coffin-Potato ribbon here. I then started heading toward the geocache and determined it had to be by the giant tree in the middle of the edge of the cemetery. Sure enough, I found a small container that fit right in with the location so I signed the log with what should be this Report's URL for a Hash Collision event even though I'm not a premium member and can't 'officially' find this.
It was a very cool and old cemetery so we checked out some of the gravestones too before we headed back. I want to say we went somewhere for a short hike or maybe stopped on the way home for dinner, but I really don't remember.
I also grabbed a pic of the signs for the cemetery so I could look it up when I got back. It turns out it's no longer a holy site and "It is currently classified as an "abandoned cemetery" or "inactive public cemetery" and, according to New York State Law, is now under the care of the Town of Centerville" but it was associated with Welsh immigrants who settled in the area. This site talks about the history and has the people who are buried there (based on the readability of the gravestones). It also looks like the hash landed next to where the old church stood.
This also turned into the start of a short Consecutive Streak and you can find the next days expedition here.
