Expedition

I got to Hamburg-Rahlstedt at 13:31 and tried to take the RB81 to Hamburg, Hauptbahnhof, which was cancelled, which means my plans to get home at a reasonable time fell through, I seriously considered just ending my expedition there, as I've also noticed that my last stop was via dial-a-ride transit, not covered by the 9€-ticket, (or so I thought right until I looked it up for this report), but I decided I'd just walk some more and hope I'm fast enough to not wait for 2 hours for the bus. After 30min of waiting, I finally continued to Hamburg, Hauptbahnhof, where I searched for my connecting train, and due to a technical defect there was moderate chaos on platforms 12 and 13 as droves of people tried to board the incoming trains with the announcement-person getting more and more desperate, annoyed, and commanding, telling people to please, step away from the platform edge and to spread evenly on the platform, seldom have I heard such desperation from an announcement. After changing platforms I boarded the ME RE 3 until Lüneburg which was very filled and running ten minutes late at this point, and I was feverishly checking the DB Navigator-App if my connecting bus would be waiting for us, since if it didn't I could just turn around in Lüneburg then and there, failing the expedition and wasting the day. And as I watched other busses waiting for trains and being late in the app, it showed that my bus had already left, I made salvaging plans, perhaps I could visit Hannover for the day? With a slither of hope, daring to propose that the app was wrong I checked at the very nearby ZOB, and my bus was just arriving! Thus I took the 5700 to Quickborn, Dahlenburg, and was on my way to the hash just 4.5km away. “You should do more sport” my muscles screamed at me on the way after the escapades of yesterday, and after walking along the road, I finally walked along a bike-path until I got to the hash-field where the tractor-tracks were very noticeable, even until the hash, which was very much on the tracks. Fun fact: the variety of potato being grown was "Opal". I hashdanced for a bit, wrote “xkcd” in the mud, and was off again. I checked in with google and if I got back home within 20 minutes I wouldn't have to wait for two hours, so I tried running back, which was quickly stunted by the fact that I was out of shape, I brisked my pace further and tried jogging some more, but it wouldn't be enough, so I started holding out my thumb and hoped to hitchhike the rest, and at the curve I actually found someone who would take me to Dahlenburg, Markt, we didn't talk much, the ride was pretty short, and in just a few minutes, we had arrived at my bus stop, I thanked the driver and was very excited to now get the Thumbs Up Achievement! I took the same way back with no more hiccups on the way.
