Expedition

In the afternoon, I took the train to Meppen and walked the rest of the distance towards the Geohash.

On the way, I wanted to cross the Hasebrinkbrücke, the last bridge over the river Hase before the Dortmund-Ems Canal flows into it. Imagine my surprise when it turned out that there was no bridge. As it turns out it was torn down a few months ago to be rebuilt. Instead, I crossed the first bridge after the Canal had already joined the Hase. The Hase's source is in the Teutoburg Forest, and the river flows through Osnabrück. It continues north and splits up into several branches around the area where I grew up in. The branches later unite and flow to the west to Meppen, where the Hase flows into the Ems.

I walked along Meppen's moat and through other parts of the city, and reached the coordinates next to a house on Alexander-Geppert-Str. After recording proof, I walked back to the station, taking a different way around the other part of the city's moat and saw the Hase flowing into the Ems. From Meppen, I took the train back to Osnabrück.
