Expedition

I was busy with family and friends all day, so this had to be done in the morning. I took the train to Alveslohe and then cycled three minutes to the point closest to the hash. It lay just behind a farm on a meadow, and there was a road leading there. That road, however, was gated off, and I wasn't about to climb the gate and trespass the entire farm, especially on Christmas. So I cycled down the road to look for the first opening, but while there were many paths leading to the fields beyond, they all involved jumping fences right next to houses or traversing private back gardens. I rounded a corner, but the wall of houses only stopped once I had arrived at the point on the street directly behind the hash from the originally planned point of entry.

So I walked along the very muddy edge of a field, clambered under a sparse hedgerow to a meadow, crossed it and then opened a gate to arrive on the road I'd wanted to enter from the front. I was hard pressed for time if I wanted to make the train back, so had to jog along it, then climbed a bank, descended into a large puddle, climbed a small fence and located the hash just a few metres further on the meadow. I was right next to the farm house, but saw nobody. After taking pictures with Eagle, I sped back the 500 m to my bike and raced to the station in a few minutes, where the train arrived less than a minute later. At home, I had only a few minutes to change my sweaty attire and eat a bite before setting off on my next appointment. The whole expedition took 45 minutes.
