I'm not sure exactly when or how I'll get to this point, but it's almost impossible for me not to. I'll probably walk here at some point. And maybe I'll also cycle at a different time. I might be able to get others to come with me, depending on who is available (university starts back soon, so a lot of hometown friends are already away). It should be a guaranteed success either way.

Expedition

In my eagerness and excitement that the geohash was so close to home, I forgot how busy my Wednesdays are. As such, I didn't actually have as much time as I had previously thought and could only go on one expedition. I decided to attempt a No Batteries Tron Walk Geohash, meaning I wouldn't be able to use my GPS to reach the geohash, nor would I be able to cross my own track at any point, and I would be walking for the whole thing. I had worked out a rough plan of how I would do this, but I've lived in this area all my life, so I didn't feel like I needed it. The walk to the geohash was simple enough, and along the way I passed a couple of things. Firstly, I saw someone waiting at a closed bus stop, so I let him know that the sign he was standing next to said it was closed, and he began walking to the next one. A minute or so later, I saw him running to catch a bus, which I don't think he would've got to, unfortunately.

The road I was walking along was closed, and has been closed on-and-off for about a year now. The nearby roundabout has been getting work done for quite a while now, hence why my drives to recent geohashes have needed detours. Whilst I was walking along the side of this road, I saw a fox. It seemed quite early for a fox to be roaming around, and it didn't seem too nervous about my presence. I took a photo of it and kept walking along this road. Eventually, I reached another bus stop with quite a few students standing at it. This made sense, I was next to the university campus and the bus that stops there heads towards the main campus. I didn't consider this at the time, but the road was closed. The bus wasn't coming, it would be going a different route. I wonder how long they waited for before realising, but hopefully it wasn't too long.

By this point, I was almost at the geohash. I knew it was underneath a tree next to a path, so I went there and stopped where I thought the geohash would be. I turned my phone on to check if I was correct and... success! I had made it to the geohash meeting the No Batteries criteria. I took my photos at the geohash, which might show as a slight overlap on the track log, something which the Tron achievement allows for. Afterwards, I began my walk back home.

I passed by a large gathering of students, seemingly taking part in a Freshers' Week barbecue. I head back to university in two days for my first lecture of the academic year, and there are usually a bunch of events targetted at the new students during this time. I had to essentially walk through this to get to where I was going, but that wasn't an issue. The walk back was pretty simple as well, and I made it home pretty quickly. The total expedition time was 51 minutes, so I also got the Speedrun achievement. As the geohash was on the University of Glasgow campus, I've also claimed the A Tale of Two Hashes challenge for Glasgow. I've definitely been here before, possibly to the exact spot, but I can't find any proof of this, so no déjà vu this time. This is my fifth consecutive success.
