From Geohashing

This category lists Geohashers who own PGP keys.

PGP (which stands for Pretty Good Privacy) is a historically popular public-key-private-key encryption system allowing correspondents to send messages encrypted only for their recipient and to prove messages were sent by them by signing these messages cryptographically. It's quite useful!.

PGP utilises a web of trust model for ensuring that keys can be trusted. What this means in practice is that PGP users need to meet eachother in person and sign eachother's keys to state that they trust these keys.

A key with more signatures against it from other keys is more likely to be considered trustworthy and Geohashing presents a great opportunity to achieve this (see PGP Keysigning for instructions).
