If the geohash location seems to lie in someone's yard, simply bring a Novelty Flying Disc and then pretend to play a gentle game of Novelty Flying Disc Catch. Then accidentally throw it into their yard and ask if you can go look for it. Alternately, use something smaller and less brightly coloured if you think you may need more time to find the geohash location.
