Scary to think you could lose your vehicle in the brush out there! Always enjoy your pictures -- NCBears 17:08, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! and yeah, it's very very overgrown. This is actually the 'other' end of the lake as far as I'm concerned, The end with some water in it. My dad's place is at the drier end. It's going to be very interesting to see the place when (if) it ever does fill up even again. mykaDragonBlue [- i have no sig -] 01:06, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
- Some people might call that a former lake. But that wouldn't be so funny. Glad you made it back. -Robyn 04:04, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
- "Lakeless Eppalock" is what my dad calls it. But no, it's still a lake, with boating and suchlike at times, just a mostly empty one. It is also a fair bit larger than is evident from the photos. The google satellite view is interesting. The plan is currently to re-fill it a bit with piped in water. It does in theory supply a bunch of irrigation and is (or was) supposedly the backup water supply for nearby Bendigo. Wikipedia doesn't have a lot of info... and just bear in mind that the 'restrictions' which prevent water sports have been since superseded by the fact that the lake was at ~1% capacity for a few years. mykaDragonBlue [- i have no sig -] 04:37, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
