Expedition

This was a very interesting expedition, as the point lay just about a mile from where I live, and in a part of town I've visited frequently. I originally planned on walking the whole way there, but it was pretty late when I started (roughly 10 p.m.), so I opted to drive to a nearby park and walk from there. Unfortunately, the point was inaccessible, as it was inside an apartment complex which had gates right at the entrance. Plan B was to walk around the complex and get a picture from the other side of the wall, which I did.

I then went to do something that I had thought of doing many times before but never got around to doing: get a great view of the Las Vegas Strip from one of the pedestrian bridges that overlooks a major highway. I honestly don't think the pictures I took do it justice. I then took some pictures of the park I, uh, parked my car at (which I hadn't visited before), then went back home to celebrate New Year's.

This was the first time I invited someone to do the expedition with me, in this case my mother. We definitely both enjoyed it! I hope this new year brings many more excited geohashing moments here in Nevada.
