Time to be opinionated.  I think setting up an alternative meeting location at 12:30pm, for a spot where you will just happen to be anyway, and then claiming it as a successful Saturday meetup at 4:00pm even though nobody else showed up (surprise, surprise), is just a little bit cheaty.  Also, I really don't think you can claim "successful geohash" ribbons when you didn't actually reach the geohash coordinates, merely the meetup ones.  The whole point of the alternative location is to provide an easy place to meet people, not an easy place to get ribbons.  -- Benjw 09:01, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

:That's right. Visiting the alternate location without reaching the real coordinates counts as "Failed - Did not attempt" (changed that on the expedition page). --Ilpadre 09:12, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

:I totally agree that this isn't an expedition at all. Alternate locations are for actual meetups. In each case, the achievements taken require reaching a geohash at the right date, which wasn't done here, so I'm removing them. --Ekorren 12:35, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Easy Cheaty geohash? :-)

That's right. Visiting the alternate location without reaching the real coordinates counts as "Failed - Did not attempt" (changed that on the expedition page). --Ilpadre 09:12, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
I totally agree that this isn't an expedition at all. Alternate locations are for actual meetups. In each case, the achievements taken require reaching a geohash at the right date, which wasn't done here, so I'm removing them. --Ekorren 12:35, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
