Location
A field near North Plains, Oregon.
Planning
When Jim noticed that hashpoint was pretty near by, he put a note onto the Portland, Oregon talk page. I also checked the Washington County taxlot information, and found that area was 3 tax lots, all zoned "Exclusive Farm Use", with one of them having a hay shed, which seemed the most likely owner.
No one responded, so he suspect everyone was busy. He printed out a Google Maps page for directions, and the GPS coordinates, and set out after work, leaving his warm, but not overheated computer room behind.
Participants
Expedition
Jim drove there, burning up liquified velociraptors.
He found fields of oats and red clover. The hash point appeared to be about 0.25-0.5 miles from the nearest road, with roads circling all sides of the fields.
The house he was heading for was under construction, and no one was there. He asked a neighbor, and she said he should ask in that house, and indicated that maybe the wife was in the barn. But no one answered when Jim knocked at the barn, so I gave up there.
Jim was about to ask at another house adjacent to a different field when his pager went off. The computer room, which was running with limited air conditioning already, had blown a circuit breaker and required his attention, and there is no WiFi in the more rural parts of North Plains. (But there is at the Library!)
Mission Thwarted, mostly by no access.
Jim earned the No trespassing consolation prize
