The Manchester graticule is at latitude 53, longitude -2. It contains, in no particular order:

  • Manchester
  • Chester
  • Liverpool
  • St Helens
  • Preston
  • Bolton
  • Blackburn
  • Stockport
  • Macclesfield
  • Wigan

as well as numerous other built up areas, including the greater parts of the Stoke-on-Trent and Wrexham areas. Water geohashes are rare, but the graticule does contain the estuaries of the Mersey and Ribble rivers, as well as a small part of Morecambe Bay. Anyone wishing to go exploring these particular bodies of waters is generally advised against it. They're not particularly safe places to go boating. That said, there is the Leeds-Liverpool canal, which is reasonably safe.

Last Successful Geohash

Styles reached a geohash in the middle of a field on the 17th of October, accompanied by a few friends he dragged along.
