Plans
See that the hash is mighty close and dead easy to get to. Maybe I'll take the whole clan out there, since the approach is a walk-up. It looks like it's close to a bunch of new construction, and I'm not sure if they're built or not, but we'll see when we get out there.
Expedition
Drove out to Mariposa and marveled again at just how far out there it is. And how isolated it is. There's seriously NOTHING out near there. We drove to a cul-de-sac that I *thought* was next to our target arroyo, but as we got tromping down into the arroyo I realized that I was whole tenth of a mile from the hash still. That's not right. We got back in the car and drove around one of the roads with building actively going on. We parked on an undeveloped road, next to a forlorn model home, and found that we were a whole 250 feet from the hash now. That's more like it. We crossed this arroyo and found the spot just on the other side, not far from the back yard retaining walls of the soon-to-be-homes. We got our pictures and tromped back to the car, although not carefully enough to keep both boys from falling on cacti. Sigh. The we had to hope we had enough gas to get back into town. Thankfully, we did. But just barely. :-)
