How I Came to be Here

I made a comment on a website about the 'duality of man' in respone to some current event (the details don't really matter, do they). I was feeling a bit vicious so I might have used words like "hypocrite" and/or "mendacious" and/or "duplicitous". Rather than flame me back to the Iron Age (which I surely deserved) another commenter gently reminded me that people were complicated, and posted a link to an XKCD cartoon. Wow! I wasted the next several hours exploring the site. And I discovered this geohash thing, which had the attractive potential of wasting all sorts of time well into the future. I was hooked.
