I'm trying to add the geohashing.info page into another page inside an iframe. I pass the lat/lon (and zoom and multi) parameters in the URL. The map is centered correctly, but it doesn't put a pin at the geohash, as if the page doesn't "understand" which graticule to put it in. When I press "Today" or any of the date changer buttons, I get "please select a location first". When I click "recenter", the map itself is lost.  -- [[User:Jevanyn|Jevanyn]] ([[User talk:Jevanyn|talk]]) 15:31, 13 October 2015 (EDT)

Calculate Distances from Home Coordinates

I'd like to pass optional hlat and hlng parameters for distance calculations from my home. This is because my chosen centre graticule is 52,0 but I live in 52,1. I'm not interested in hashpoints in the North Sea. Even without this feature, I love your calculator. Thanks. --Sourcerer (talk) 04:24, 17 February 2015 (EST)

Will look into it. I am planning on building a whole new version of gh, but work is demanding at the moment and my eyes don't seem to like looking at a computer for 12 hours per day. But it is noted and I will look into it. Try to do it soon.--Eupeodes (talk) 15:59, 17 February 2015 (EST)
And it is sort of implemented. I choose to implement it as glat and glng for the grid center since that was easier. --Eupeodes (talk) 11:53, 30 April 2015 (EDT)
Cool - that's just what I wanted. Thanks. --Sourcerer (talk) 08:20, 8 May 2015 (EDT)

Reliable Hashpoints?

Hi! I dropped out of geohashing for a while, and now that I'm back I see my old coordinate finder (peeron) is no longer reliable. The geohash website recommended this one. It seems very nice and convenient, but I just noticed it is able to give hashpoints for every day up to the 27th of May (today is the 22nd). How can this be?? Is this application currently active and working? Thanks! :-) (and sorry if this isn't the right page to be asking this question!)

Elizabeth

It's a holiday weekend (in the UK and I assume also the USA) so there are hashpoints up to Tuesday and perhaps later depending on your timezone. Normally only one or two points are available. If you zoom out, you can see the Global Hashpoints. It took me a while to find that out. --Sourcerer (talk) 11:09, 24 May 2015 (EDT)

New Version

Hi - An interesting new version. The calendar view is useful, as is the hide/show feature.

I have found some small problems ...

  1. When I click on "Meetup", there is a missing leading zero in the month, like this 2016-1-01 52 0.
  2. I really miss "Street View" which is incredibly useful for finding access paths but your link to Google Maps fixes that.
  3. The glat and glon parameters don't seem to be working yet.
  4. Will you be bringing back the Mo, Tu, We style option instead of the date based view?
  5. Could you use a cookie to save the view state? I prefer hybrid.
