Sorry to all for my lack of activity on this page in general, and hashing in particular...as for Finnegan, he unfortunately passed away on March 20th, after a 13-month battle in Intensive Care...he had been relocated to Washington, DC's Georgetown University Hospital to be considered for multi-organ transplant; the surgeons put him on the list begrudgingly, and his health never really improved to the point where this option was viable. We have returned to Rhode Island, and are currently in bankruptcy proceedings stemming from my wife and my year out of work. We have just secured anapartment after living with a good friend/coworker for the past month and a half. I am back at my old job, and my wife has a couple of fee-for-service contracts...just trying to make our way through our new reality.

UPDATE: Having had a few months of full-time work under my belt, my wife and I were able to rent an apartment in Coventry in June. She started a full-time job at the beginning of October...more importantly, we have been able to effect some positive things from our situation. My wife and I traveled to Washington, DC where my wife testified before a Senate subcommittee hearing regarding medical bankruptcy.

Revision as of 16:53, 12 December 2009

For Sun, 6/1, in Stonington, CT (according to "accurate bullshit along those lines"), I would say 2pm on would be possible, with around 4pm being most probable. No rafts will be needed, but punch, pie, games. etc. may be considered. An actual GPS was purchased by Patrick to facilitate actual geohash location.

I dunno...looks like its about 100 feet away from a house, in their back yard... Yasu 05:50, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Dead car blues...you got them dead car blues

It's in the woods; entering from the side near the brook, we might be able to swing iti; also, given that my GPS rounds to 3 decimals, we may not have to get that close to get the hash!

After some tooling around with Google Earth, it looks like if you stand on the sidewalk right in front of that green circle on the neighbor's lawn (what the hell is that anyway?), you could probably get the GPS to round up to the proper coordinates. Yasu 18:15, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

I might still go solo, but the later it gets, the less motivated I am.

Hah, grats on making it today (er, yesterday). I would not have had the courage to flat out ask the property owner. Yasu 05:34, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Any updates on the status of Memorial Day's geocash? --Yusuke 20:29, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Have not gone back, so no. We didn't put a URL on there, if memory serves me right... so if you're looking for gas money, give it a shot :)

Update on the geocash: It's gone. I think it may have just fallen off though, because everything else was exactly as it was when we left that day. Though I noticed that there was a sign on The Root of All Science from the city of Coventry saying "Please Do Not Little Our Pond." Was that there before? --Yusuke 01:21, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Did it really say don't little our pond? Because for you it would be a typo; in reality that would be an awesome (awkward noun mine). Patrick

Oh my god I missed the best geohash location ever today I am so sad right now. I could have walked there in under an hour, then gone to Walmart/Gamestop for some great deals! --Yusuke 03:24, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

geohash statistical anomolies

IMHO, this is worth a page on it's own... (esp if others find more anomolies of various natures (and this would help encourage... :) --Nemo 04:00, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, man. It was easy enough - there is a list of previous hashpoints on the talk page. find your own lat lon decimals (geotude.com), and match them up with a range within a short distance of your abode. This is also how I initiated my "Geohash Fan Fiction", except for the last one! -Patrick

6/29 Talk

Flamehead6544 (Once known as Yusuke's ride) would love to help, but his car is about as dead as dead things get, so he cannot be counted on for punch, pie, games, or rafts. His raptor defenses will also be sorely missed. Some other week, hopefully. My talk page will say when my car is fixed, and I shall ride again! =EDIT= I CAN HAS CAR NAO??? YA RLY!!! Today is my first attempt at a geohash with the new truck. Hoping to get others to come down on June 29th!

Sorry for logging in so late in the day on a weekend - was feelin a little blah and was watchin' the Sox instead. Have fun, and good luck; the hash looks to be more naturified than any other attempts, successful or otherwise. Wood nymph raptors might abound... -Patrick

Finnegan

I'm sorry to hear about your son, and I'm sure I speak on behalf of everyone when I say our thoughts are with you. Hope everything goes great, and your son will soon be coming hashing with you. --joannac 02:19, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
