I was relieved to see before actually approaching the hash (which, according to google maps and openstreetmap lies only 2 meters away from the trcks) that I would be able to be warned well in advance that a train was coming, by the sound it makes on the rails long before it actually reach me. I would have enough time to get away from the hash in case a train comes while I'm at the hash.

Expedition

Like the day before yesterday, I wasn't sure in advance if I would attempt this one, because I already had something to do in the evening that would not end before 8:15 p.m., but once again I took the geohashing equipment with me in case of.

When my previous obligation ended at around 8:20 P.M. I was delighted to see that the weather had kept being perfect, and I estimated that the sun wouldn't set before at least another 45 minutes, which would leave me enough time to drive to and reach the hashpoint before the night.

The drive was uneventful. Thank to the many forest roads, which are often in very good shape, I was able to drive very close to the hashpoint. I parked at about 60 meters from it, and walked through the tallgrass towards the hash.

While doing so, I heard and saw the suburban train of the S3 line coming from the south-east (from Sauerlach). I had just the time to open the camera and took a shot of it passing by.

So I proceeded to the hash, which I reached very easily.

2013-06-05 47 11 - Zertrin - GPS coordinates.jpg

I took the usual pictures, and a bit more pics of the sunset.

While walking back to my car, another S3 train, this time in the other direction, passed by. It's interesting to note that the trains seem to be very slow until they really reach you, at which point you see that they're actually quite fast ^^

On the way back through the forest I experimented some "artistic" art (a.k.a. I don't know what I'm doin', let's try to convert crap into art ^^), see gallery below.
