First meetup! Checked the coordinates in the early afternoon, and saw that they may be reachable. Drove to the street and arrived at 5 past 4. Quiet cul de sac where no one seemed home and everyone might be suspicious. That may just be nerves of first geohash. Took a screenshot. Didn't want to go into private property or try to explain geohash. Target almost reached, correct to 3dp. Sorry I missed Jondor.

-A friend and I set off around 1:45 for the first geohash either of us had ever attempted. After planning the journey carefully, we first diverted to burgerfuel and then ended up taking the wrong turn in New lynn and ended up in avondale. At this point my companion took out her phone to demonstrate the gps app she had.
-Halfway to Manukau, we turned round, found our bearings and proceeded to the hashpoint. We arrived and didn't really know what to do so we went as close to the point as we could without going onto private property and took a picture. As the picture was being taken, a lady brought in some washing and I called out "Excuse me, would you mind if we take a picture on your steps?". Strangely, she hurried inside without response and the residents watched us return to our car and drive off.

-Following this we returned home be an even more circuitous route, which for some reason took us near the airport and other auckland landmarks (quite unintentionally). We realised where we were as we passed the domain and the sky tower and got our bearings together and made it home having learnt that using maps is important. Around this time, Natedogg reached the hash...
