"Sir, sir, sir?!", called Professor Abeggerli, her immense spectacles resting on top of her gray hair,  "Why can't I use a &lt;b> tag instead of a &lt;h3> tag?  They look utterly identical on our site!"  Mr Calamus and the class suppressed a sigh.  "Because screen-readers are unable to identify the resulting text as a header, which makes it very difficult for people with impaired vision to gain an oversight of the webpage." "But how can that be?  They look utterly identical!"  The bell rang, and Mr Calamus announced sadly that the lesson was over already and the people should read their accessibility guidelines for next class.  Giving facultative education courses to university staff was often fun.  Except when it wasn't, which usually resulted from Professor Abeggerli's presence.  The worst time had been when she'd taken Calamus's sign language course, and every given pair of signs had looked "utterly identical" to her.

Calamus collected his stuff and took the train to Wülflingen, which had been a rural village until the town of Winterthur had grown around it.  Unfortunately, he had forgotten to pack his GPS receiver this morning, so he just walked by the map and hoped Chris was going to bring his stuff.  When he had almost reached the point, an unidentifiable blur appeared in the distance, right next to the river Töss, approaching with with incredible velocity, before it came to a sudden halt right at the hashpoint.  "Fiiiiirst!", exclaimed Chris, wearing his jogging gear and soaking from sweat, but displaying an expression of pure happiness in his face.  Calamus wished he had his camera ready, as a picture of this moment would have made an application for any job that required a lot of dedication a certain success.  "The [[Earliest geohasher achievement|Earliest]] achievement is mine, all mine!  Erm&hellip; do you have the tech stuff?  It kind of impaired my running, so I left it at home."  "I think Earliest requires a Saturday or something, and&hellip; no&hellip;"  It took Calamus a full five minutes to realise he still had a testing tablet buried in his backpack, which conveniently already had the Droid installed, who confirmed the spot was exactly right (which Chris had already known due to his scout/psychic abilities).  Calamus took some pictures, and they went off to look for a pub.

They quickly lowered their standards, as this part of Wülflingen didn't seem to feature a pub that was both open and not inside a pool area (causing entrance fees).  So they just bought some coke from a kiosk and talked about the future.  And it turned out they were both going to be out-of-graticule for some time.  Chris had some research to do in [[Utrecht, Netherlands|52,5]], and Calamus had some strategy discussions in [[Würzburg, Germany|49,9]]. Most unfortunately, neither of them was probably going to have the time for hashing there.  After some speculation on the odds of a hashpoint being at the site of St. Gallen Open Air this weekend (Chris: "Man, just imagine the picture of me standing among the thousands, holding aloft my phone with the coordinates!"), they parted ways.  Calamus would have loved to jog all the way back to Winterthur as well, but <nowiki>[insert excuse here]</nowiki>, so he went for the bus.

In Winterthur, he bought a delicious falafel at one of his favourite kebab stands, evading just in time before an argument escalated between the clerk and a customer on the world-changing question whether six and a half francs was too high a price for a little can of beer ("Who you callin' a Capitalist?!").

Expedition

"Sir, sir, sir?!", called Professor Abeggerli, her immense spectacles resting on top of her gray hair, "Why can't I use a <b> tag instead of a <h3> tag?

"The Earliest achievement is mine, all mine! Erm… do you have the tech stuff? It kind of impaired my running, so I left it at home." "I think Earliest requires a Saturday or something, and… no…" It took Calamus a full five minutes to realise he still had a testing tablet buried in his backpack, which conveniently already had the Droid installed, who confirmed the spot was exactly right (which Chris had already known due to his scout/psychic abilities).

Chris had some research to do in 52,5, and Calamus had some strategy discussions in 49,9. Calamus would have loved to jog all the way back to Winterthur as well, but [insert excuse here], so he went for the bus.

In Winterthur, he bought a delicious falafel at one of his favourite kebab stands, evading just in time before an argument escalated between the clerk and a customer on the world-changing question whether six and a half francs was too high a price for a little can of beer ("Who you callin' a Capitalist?!").
