This was my first geohash and I didn't want to go alone. I texted a friend, AKA Russia, asking her if she wanted to go on an adventure. We turned into a neighborhood and parked the car in front of someone's house. There was a little pathway going behind the houses in the correct direction so we walked along it hoping that we wouldn't have to get into someone's yard to find the hash. It seemed like we just might make it but no. We came up to a fence 3.1m away from the hash. So. We walked back around and rang, and then knocked, and then rang the bell of the person's whose backyard it was. No dice. They weren't home. So we went to the house on the left. Again, no dice. Finally we went to the house of the person on the left. Luckily she was home and she gave us permission to cross into her backyard.

The ground was a bit saturated with water in some parts and made me wish I hadn't worn canvas shoes. Oh well. I managed. We tramped around a bit trying to find the spot, but Russia got fed up with me and took my phone because she said I wasn't waiting for it to calibrate (she was right) and with her at the wheel we got within 1.5 m of the spot. Close enough. We snapped pics and hightailed it out of there. I tried using the app thing, but it kept on saying I hadn't confirmed my email so we snapped the best picture we could of my screen. It was a bit hot for us, at around 90 degrees. Luckily we had water in the car. Round trip we probably spent about an hour doing this.

I woke up today and decided to check today's coordinates. In the graticule west of me today's geohash was only 10 miles away so I decided to go. That was the extent of my planning.

Expedition

This was my first geohash and I didn't want to go alone. I texted a friend, AKA Russia, asking her if she wanted to go on an adventure. She agreed though she had no idea what a geohash was so I explained it in the car on the way. We drove down, the trip not taking long despite losing GPS signal on the way. It was very uneventful.

Then I ate lunch. Soup. It was yummy.
