The Expedition
Last time with car didn't feel quite right. Consequently, I went again with public transport today. Weather was very nice, sunny and warm.
I went by train to Huglfing via Weinheim. From the station it was a walk of about 4km a little bit up a hill, and the view was beautiful. The view to the Alps was clear. I passed a large gravel pit, which also gave an impressive view. Unknown to me before, I walked on an Ancient Roman road between Rome and Augsburg. The inhabitants of Huglfing rose a milestone to keep the memory about the Roman history in the region alive.
Already from the maps I could see that the geohash was not far from a road and into a forest, which was true in the end. I just had to cross a meadow and walk up another small hill deeper into the forest. As the view inside the forest was less impressive I took only the usual photographs and took more from the outside.
When walking back I had time left for a coffee with a piece of cheese cake until my train approached.
Again, a very nice trip. By chance, this is my 50th successful geohash attempt and the first one in my new home graticule.
