Location

The hash lies on a meadow in the Habichtswald near Kassel.

Participants

GeorgDerReisende

Plans

I wanted to go there by tram and bus, and walk around.

Expedition

2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0160.jpg I left home at 6:50, to get the tram 3 leaving Ihringshäuser Straße at 6:58, because with this tram and the connecting bus I could get the last bus 22 in the morning to the Habichtswald. I left the bus at the stop Essigberg. There my adventure began.
2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0169.jpg 300 meters before the bus stop is the junction of the forest way leading to the hash. I like this form of road, it shows some older idea of road building.
2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0175.jpg 2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0178.jpg Then I walked along the tarred road. Looked in the morning to the blooming trees.
2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0181.jpg A smaller forest way would lead me to the hash. But the meadows had fences of barbed wire. Could I reach the hash?
2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0182.jpg 2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0183.jpg Then I came near to the hash. It was 32 meters behind the fence. Bad.
2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0184.jpg 2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0187.jpg This was the look and this was I looking. No trespassing.
2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0185.jpg Some meters further I found this view. In the fence it looked like a gate, but it was keyed again with the barbed wire. But I wanted to try to walk around the meadow, maybe there was a place, where the wire was broken.
2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0196.jpg 2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0198.jpg While I walked along the meadow I saw some horses on the northern meadow. And some more horses.
2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0207.jpg On the southern side of my meadow I had to pass a forest of tans. I had to walk very slowly, but again and again I found something like a trail through the thicket.
2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0217.jpg 2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0216.jpg The trail ended at the place, which I had seen before. And there was a stepover across the fence.
2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0223.jpg 2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0225.jpg After walking a bit zigzag over the meadow to avoid the wet places, I found the hash. The hash lied in the brook which divided the meadow.
2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0224.jpg A better view to the brook.
2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0230.jpg 2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0226.jpg View to the south.
2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0227.jpg View to the north.
2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0229.jpg 2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0228.jpg View to the west and to the east.
2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0233.jpg 2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0234.jpg For going back into civilisation, I found after a while a bad forest way and then a better forest way, with which I could have saved some 1500 meters and a lot of thicket.
2014-05-07 51 9 GeorgDerReisende 0271.jpg On my way out of the forest I found this wonderful sight to the country at the west of the Habichtswald.
