South side of Hood River, Oregon (USA).
Participants
Plans
My plan was simple. Find the place.
Expedition
This was a simple one. It was not far off a main drag going out of the south side of a 'nearby' town. Drove near it, parked in the parking lot of Murray's Clearance Center and walked north and east through an orchard until the coordinates on my Garmin etrex Legend H matched the given coordinates for the day. As I approached I found it suspicious that there was a pink surveyor's ribbon tied to a branch of a tree right about where I stopped. It made me wonder if someone else in the Hood River area was doing the same thing. I took a handful of pictures which I'll examine later, edit and post of the handheld GPS unit with the flagged tree in the background.
This is the first time I've made it all the way to one of these points. Fear of horned bulls and private farmlands have made me shy in the past.
