As planned, we left Stanford at about 19:15. The ride over was very straightforward, and definitely one of the easier geohashes I've undertaken. We rode straight down University Ave., enjoying the feeling of biking past stopped traffic. We found the hashpoint without a hitch, just outside a Four Seasons hotel in East Palo Alto. Google Maps/the phone GPS were acting up a bit as far as determining our exact location, but by visual survey of satellite images of the hashpoint, we could see we were at the exact location, which was on the sidewalk on the corner across the street from the hotel.

We took the usual photos (though not as many as I'd like since my phone died) then biked back. We stopped on University on the way back for some ice cream to wrap up an enjoyable and unusually smooth expedition; I looked for postcards to complete a certain achievement, and found some at the CVS, but realized I didn't have [[User:meta-alt|meta-alt]]'s current address and so did not purchase any. Anyway, we bike home uneventfully, bringing an end to a quick but very nice outing.

Location

Outside a hotel in East Palo Alto.

Participants

Erik (talk) and his roommate, Greg.

Plans

To leave Stanford around 7pm; shouldn't take an hour to get there by bicycle. Take the usual photos etc, and maybe swing by Ikea afterward.

Expedition

We stopped on University on the way back for some ice cream to wrap up an enjoyable and unusually smooth expedition; I looked for postcards to complete a certain achievement, and found some at the CVS, but realized I didn't have meta-alt's current address and so did not purchase any. Anyway, we bike home uneventfully, bringing an end to a quick but very nice outing.
