Concerning Time Zones
I think that using UTC for the next day would be perfectly fine:
Example: On Monday in the summer, the market opens in New York at 0930 which is 1330 UTC. That means that Tuesday's hash will begin at 0000 UTC. For New Yorkers this will be 2000 on Monday, but that should be fine because they will have until 2000 on Tuesday to finish their hash. The whole world will operate according to UTC and thus everyone will always have a hash to go to.
