I'm typing this up months later and don't remember all the minute details) and made my way to the hash. Locating the field by the hash, I was surprised that the forest where the hash was supposed to be was cut down and that area was very overgrown with new growth. It might be tricky to get this one even though there was no Posted signs. The area along the road was extremely thick and I didn't see any way through on that side. | ||

It was a small creek but it had cut a deep trough through the land and was about 12 feet (4 meters) deep. I was hoping the hash was on my side of the creek, but as I got closer, I realized it was just on the other side and I would have to find a place to cross. Spotting a large tree that had fallen over the creek, I carefully balanced myself as I slowly walked over. | ||

Work was sending me to a conference in Wilmington, NC on the 5th and 6th but my brother lives just 2 hours away in New Bern, NC. I was able to fly down early and rented a car for the weekend to spend time with the family. I knew the day before where the hashes were for the weekend and I thought this wouldn't add too much time to the drive but I wasn't sure if it would be posted or not. I figured it would still be worth it to give it a try and it would break up the drive.
