Location Commentary

Another relatively accessible location, this time at about 3400' MSL in the mountains above the Kern River valley. The hash is approximately 1900 feet NW of Breckenridge Road, along a ridge less than 200 vertical feet from the road. Satellite imagery indicates that it's open land, and there's even a convenient turnout on the paved road, allowing easy parking. Surprisingly, Google Street View goes up to within less than a half a mile of the hash, despite the relative remoteness, and shows no fences along the road in that section. -- Rocketgeek

Update -- you can just about see the hash site on Google Street View. -- Rocketgeek

Planning

I will be going to this one, barring unforeseen circumstances. I plan to arrive at the hash site around 1900 local time. -- Rocketgeek

Trip Report

And, DENIED! Turns out it is private property, with a fence and everything. The fence had a sign identifying the land as the property of one Milano Land & Cattle Co. I had seen a barn with a sign for the same company a couple of miles previously, so I back tracked, parked, and located a person. I asked, they said no, and that was the end of it. Their dog didn't much like me -- aggressive barking and the whole bit. Pretty views, tho. -- Rocketgeek
