This hash was somewhat similar to my previous one - 2020-08-21 -36 146. I saw it when I got up in the morning (usually my first activity) and planned my attack for my return from work.
Benalla, where I've been working on the West Gate Tunnel Precast Factory, has been recently blessed with good geohashes. And like the one last month this geohash was in a field that looked like it would present few problems.
I finished work just before 6pm with enough light to get me to the hash without having to advertise my presence with light or have to stumble around blindly. I took the bike path connecting the town to the wetlands just beyond my workplace.
In approaching the field of the hash I took a small, dirt track towards the closest approach. When I arrived there was a low fence electrified on the other side. I got myself over without too much trouble and then, having taken a few steps on what seemed like fairly flat grazing ground, decided to hoist my bike over as well. Thus mobilised I rolled my way northwards towards the hash.
There were a few boggy patches I had to walk my bike over, another fence - non-electrified and collapsed - and a channel that all presenteded small obstacles but otherwise I was unencumbered. It was about 500m of grassy excursion.
I arrived at the point at about sunset. I took photos, stood on the right spot, and returned to the track where I'd left my helmet and backpack. I rode home as it was getting dark the other way round Benalla's airport along more unsealed roads. All too easy.
Here is the route I took starting from work and finishing at my motel.
