This achievement was proposed in the past, but has been rejected, because it is already an achievement in the form of the Border Hash. Please read the discussion page for more details.
As per the page proposed achievements: If an achievement has strong opposition and the reasons for opposition are not resolved through discussion, then the proposed achievements category is replaced with the rejected achievements category, the reason explained succinctly on the page, and the page otherwise marked to make sure it isn't confused with an achievements page.SELF-SERVING statement
If this achievement is allowed, I (1PE) would claim the "Foreign Embassy" achievement for 2012-06-05 -35 149.
The concept
This award calls for the geohasher to visit a 'foreign' country to visit the geohash, that is, not the country of normal domicile meaning not where the geohasher lives normally.
For instance, the geohasher is:
- a citizen of Switzerland;
- lives in Italy;
- visits a geohash in France, Austria, or Belgium (or Brazil, Australia, Mexico, etc) but perhaps also Switzerland, but NOT Italy;
- visits a geohash on the 'soil' of a foreign nation (eg within the embassy of that nation, that is deemed under international conventions to be part of the 'foreign' nation, and the unlikeliness of this part of the achievement makes this a special category of "Foreign" deemed "Foreign Embassy".)
Picture
Generally, the picture should substantiate the requirements, if at all possible. An example would be as shown in the image here.
Achievement requirements
Would be the usual requirement of reaching the coordinates within accuracy requirements, and taking one or more pictures on location, in a way that is substantiating the claim. Template:ProposedAchievementsNav
