About two-thirds of the graticule occupies the northeastern corner of Guatemala, but a strip along the eastern side of the graticule is in Belize, and a strip along the northern side is in Mexico. Most of the latter is in the state of Campeche, but a tiny portion is in Quintana Roo. The graticule does not contain much in the way of major population centres or, indeed, roads.
