Expedition
It looked like I was best-placed to continue our Victorian streak. Rob had put in a heroic effort the day before to bring us to 13 days - and I was determined to do what I could to make it 14.
I took some unscheduled leave and knocked off work at lunch. The ride was superb, thanks in part to a gentle semi-tailwind, but owing more to the tremendous route through farmland, parks, plantation and bush. Photos can do it more justice than narrative can.
Aware of the wind behind me, I had abandoned any pretence of a return journey, and planned to catch a train from Traralgon, but was spared even that effort by the surpise appearance of Rhonda and the car at the hash site. The hash itself was in freshly-felled plantation, leading to a rather adventurous approach, climbing over and around and occasionally walking along horizontal trunks until we reached the point.
It was almost 8pm by the time we left, and as Rhonda pointed out on the drive home, I would've missed the last train from Traralgon anyway - it leaves at the inconveniently early hour of 8:22pm - ridiculous.
