This user earned the Meet-up achievement
by meeting a complete stranger at the ({{{latitude}}}, {{{longitude}}}) geohash on [[{{{date}}} {{{latitude}}} {{{longitude}}}|{{{date}}}]].

This achievement exists to celebrate the social purpose of geohashing. No matter how remote your geohash, and no matter how inconvenient the time you reach it, never forget that the algorithm was conceived to provide a venue for serendipitous meetings. Take this achievement if you go to a geohash location and meet someone there whom you had never met before. Purists may demand that their stranger not be someone they have spoken to on the wiki or IRC channel, while others may count a first "in person" meeting to be a first meeting. You will have to use your own personal norms of social interaction to determine what level of interaction you need to consider a person "met." Learning their name and competing with them in a friendly round of Twister ought to do.

If you meet someone who is not a geohasher at a geohash, you may qualify for this award, but your meeting must go beyond basic pleasantries and "what are you doing here?"

If your meeting goes extremely well, you may also qualify for the Abduction geohash or Sex Geohash achievement.

Proof

Usual proof of date and location is required, but one of the photographs must include the two (or more) of you. It's not enough to have a picture of them that you took. If there is no one else to take the picture, put your heads together and hold your camera out at arm's length. No points will be lost for poor focus or framing. You must also state truthfully that you know the person's name. (You need not post the name on the wiki, and indeed should not unless you have their permission.)

Winners

I know there are lots of winners, but there are also active geohashers who have yet to achieve this award and should work to do so.
