In a residential neighborhood near... Spotswood, I guess? It's hard to say where things are in New Jersey.

Expedition

We woke up in Dover, Delaware, at the end of a week on the East Coast, with a late afternoon flight out of Newark, a few hours north. We saw that this hashpoint wasn't too far off of the route, so at some point we turned off Highway 1 and surrendered ourselves to the mechanical voice of my phone navigation app. It took us through a classic New Jersey landscape of villages, country, farms, scattered houses, preposterous new mansions, commercial strips, malls, heavy industry, and titanic distribution centers, all scattered randomly over the land as if the president of the zoning board was Jackson Pollack. I always find it kind of charming, although I think it would be hard to live there.

The hashpoint was in a nice little suburban neighborhood in search of a city called "Presidential Estates" or something like that. The streets were named after Presidents. People were out walking their dogs and taking the air, and didn't glance twice at us.

Then we continued on to the airport.
