The biggest church of Seinäjoki, named Lakeuden Risti (Cross of the Flatland). It is designed by Alvar Aalto.

This graticule is located at 62,22.

Today's location

The area belongs to Southern Ostrobothnia which is known for its wide open fields, flat landscape and rivers. In spring the rivers flood extensively across the flat fields, which turn into lakes. This of course presents a challenge for geohashers. Southern Ostrobothnia is one of the centers of agriculture in Finland, but the graticule also includes forests and marshland.

Biggest city is Seinäjoki and bigger towns include Kurikka, Kauhajoki, Jalasjärvi, Ilmajoki and Ylistaro.

Barren stone deposits of an ice-age era coastline are one of the highlights of Lauhanvuori National Park.

There are two national parks, Lauhanvuori National Park and Kauhaneva-Pohjankangas National Park, within this graticule.

The humble mentality of Southern Ostrobothians is best described by this local saying: "We tried to do it regularly, but succeeded extraordinarily!"

Local Geohashers

None.
