HASHSCII - the Harmless but Arguably Silly Hashers' Superfluous Complication in Information Interchange - is a specification of a subset of Unicode (or mostly basic ASCII) character permutations for the representation of the most frequently used concepts in Geohashing, such as types of Graticules and Achievements.

The coding could be used anywhere the full word or concept can be used - for example in expedition reports, tweets, IRC - when it is desirable to be succinct or cryptic.

Leaving a signature of #. at a hashpoint is suggested if there is no room (or material) for writing/constructing "xkcd" or a longer marker.
