Expedition

I drove out in the morning to Meholah, prayed, took a quick look at the map, and decided to walk around the south side of the town. I asked someone about it who said that there were Bedouins (Muslim nomads) there but he didn't know much about them.

I crossed the south side of the village and came back to the highway. I waved to the herders on the hill and they waved back. I arrived at the settlement and when I spoke Hebrew to the woman the only word I understood was "la" which was "no". I then went back to the herders, talked to them in Hebrew, and told them where I was going. They were fine with me just walking to the other side.

So I did. Worst bedtime story ever.
