[[User:Kyrkazakh|Kyrkazakh]] ([[User talk:Kyrkazakh|talk]]): We did have a White Christmas around here, which I am grateful for, but dreary rains came today and melted most of the snow — they picked up right as I headed out. Still: finally, a geohash in Rochester! (Well, Rochester Township, but it's basically still in the city.) I arrived by car, blasting a mashup I created last night of Champagne Supernova and Red Wine Supernova which I call Rosé Supernova. It slaps.

Exited my car and before I knew it (literally) my phone told me I was on top of the hash. Snapped some photos and then ambled down the road to a nearby geocache that was tucked into a small limestone rock face and was called "Stratification Gratification" (cute name right?) Wrote in the log, including a plug for geohashing, which I try to do in many logbooks now since I think geocachers are the kind of folks who might be interested in hashing. Because the cache was wedged in the side of a +3-meter rock face, with the hash on the other side, the hash site wasn't visible and thus this doesn't count for the geocache-related achievement.

The drive back was rainier still, and particularly foggy, so I'm glad I got out and returned when I did. But happy to have bagged another hash, my first in my home county, and to also now be the Graticuleader in 43 -92 (Austin, MN), surpassing Trane's record! Celebrating with a little cider tonight. Happy holidays, folks.

Plans

Kyrkazakh (talk): Well hey, looks like I might get one more in before the new year after all. Driving over sometime this afternoon, though I shan't count chickens pre-hatch.

Expedition

Kyrkazakh (talk): We did have a White Christmas around here, which I am grateful for, but dreary rains came today and melted most of the snow — they picked up right as I headed out.
