The Fort Collins geohash for 27 December 2008 was located in an old industrial/commerical area just north downtown Fort Collins and the Cache La Poudre River, off of Alpine Street, a short dirt road just off of North College Avenue.
I arrived right about 4 p.m. and reached the site without incident -- the spot I settled on as the actual site, based on Google's sattelite imagery, was where the southwest corner of the intersection between Alpine and the alley parallel to College Avenue (or rather, where such a corner would be if there were such an intersection).
The most prominent nearby features were a beige electrical box and a mound of dirt that I pronounced to be the hash site. I left a home-made xckd button to mark the site for anyone else who might come along later, and, after about five minutes, ventured on.
