We headed out around 3:30 in Andy's car, drove north on 89 until we got to the turn-off for Drake. Which we found out is not acutally a town, just a bunch of construction. Anyways much driving on dirt roads ensued, we went a little too far (we knew because we were back on pavement), turned around and then made our turn off. The road we were driving on was pretty much a cleared area in the shrubs and trees. We were driving until we came up to a barb-wire gate. We got out and debated the merits of continuing versus going home. There were no "No Tresspassing" signs and no one around so we figured we'd continue. Once on the ranch we pulled off the road at what we were confident was the latitude and then walked 300 feet (roughly) west.

It was about 4:15 when we got to the hash but since we hadn't seen anyone else we figured we probably weren't going to. The Relentless Haberdashers' first Saturday XKCD meet up. Still no GPS unit but using maps and sectionals (hey, we've got two pilots) we figure we came pretty close to the spot.

Expedition

We headed out around 3:30 in Andy's car, drove north on 89 until we got to the turn-off for Drake. Which we found out is not actually a town, just a bunch of construction. There were no "No Trespassing" signs and no one around so we figured we'd continue. Once on the ranch we pulled off the road at what we were confident was the latitude and then walked 300 feet (roughly) west.

It was about 4:15 when we got to the hash but since we hadn't seen anyone else we figured we probably weren't going to. We whiled away the time waiting by building quite a remarkable cairn and taking entertaining pictures. Around 5:30 we decided we'd risked enough standing around and started the long drive home.
