Expedition Report
Koepfel
Coming back from my previous expedition, I changed trains in Bretten and arrived in Wössingen Ost at 23:07. I walked through the dark and deserted Wössingen, but as I left the village, it was completely dark. Navigating mostly by my GPS rather than by sight, I managed to find the field path I looked up on the map before. Said path however ended at the large quarry near Wössingen, with no further path going along it towards the hashpoint. I was about 290 meters west of the hashpoint, at 23:30 (still on the previous day). As my flashlight's battery was nearly dead I wasn't able to find out if there was another way to the hashpoint, going back to the main road and trying the next field path might have worked.
I remembered that trains back to Karlsruhe left at 0:07 and 1:21, the latter, which I originally wanted to take, with no direct tram connection in Karlsruhe to my home, so I would have had to walk. As my camera's battery was dead as well, I was using my old canon camera (with flash, as opposed to my iphone, which I usually use), I gave up and walked back to still catch the 0:07 train, which I took home, arriving at 0:40.
I thought about trying again during the day, if Tuesday's coordinates looked good (4 consecutive geohashes), but since they seemed too far away, I didn't try again.
