Actual happenings:

We left from phyzome's place in Somerville about 2pm. Having forgotten to print out the Active Geohasher "All-The-Infos" PDF, we stopped at his office to print it out, then got on the road. Roughly 50 minutes and lots of conversation later, we were at Timber, LN, in Holden, MA, Worcester County. After some finagling with a couple of GPSs, we were able to determine that the geohash was behind a tree, just inside of someone's property line. Dog barking, we knocked on the door, with no response. A couple of neighbors were mildly weirded out, but seemed to think we were mostly harmless, so we made a snowman, including a carrot-nose supplied by phyzome and quarters for eyes (some kid or crow is going to be very happy.)

We met up with another XKCD reader (we'll call him Paul, since we forgot his name) who was on his first Geohash, shook hands, waited around until a few minutes after 4, then headed out. Evn wanted to complete the Squishy achievement, so we headed to Dunkin' Donuts nearby. A 4 point GeoSquishy later (it took them two attempts, and the Coolatta still barely qualified as a slushy) and we were back on the road. Another 50 minutes and phyzome was home. Round about 15 more and so was Evn.

Good times for Evn's geohashing adventure, and we were able to complete a few achievements, including photographic evidence!

Evn and Phyzome earned the Land geohash achievement by reaching the (42, -71) geohash on 2012-03-03.

Evn earned the Circus Geohash Achievement by juggling at the (42, -71) geohash on 2012-03-03.

Evn and Phyzome earned the Meet-up achievement by meeting Paul(?) at the (42, -71) geohash on 2012-03-03.

Is it true that Evn and Phyzome earned the Earliest geohasher? In principle, yes. But though they were the first ones there, it is unclear whether Paul, a later visitor, actually set foot on the geohash. (2012-03-03 42 -71).

Is it true that Evn and Phyzome earned the Ambassador Achievement? In principle, yes. But even though they asked neighbors' opinions, the property owner wasn't actually home. (2012-03-03 42 -71).

Is it true that Phyzome earned the Drag-along Achievement? In principle, yes. But even though Evn had never previously gone on a geohashing adventure, he had joined the #geohashing IRC, and had been equally influential in making the adventure happen. (2012-03-03 42 -71).

Is it true that Evn earned the GeoSquishy FirstSip Achievement? In principle, yes. But Coolatas are not carbonated, no matter how close to the geohash they are purchased. (2012-03-03 42 -71).
