Aw, no GPS unit will ever work indoors! You shouldn't blame yours. And since the mall doesn't appear to be oriented along N-S / E-W directions it would have been very hard to count paces or something. Well, it's good to hear that it's not just mine then. And I think it was roughly oriented, but only roughly so. And the rain probably wasn't helping GPS reception either. Just use the Small Hash Inquiry Tool, http://tjum.anthill.de/cgi-bin/geohash.cgi?lat=&lon=&nr=o&map=gs&size=240x240&t=&date=2013-01-14&unit=km ... you have to enter the date in question, and the globalhash is at the bottom. No worries, I had a similar long disappearance back in 2011 or so. My next visit to Chicagoland will be the last week of December. Dolphintreasure and Mystrsyko actually live in Springfield now, but they occasionally make it up to Chicago to see family. I was just randomly checking the wiki for the first time in months because someone updated the New York page, and I saw that you're back at it! I've had almost as long a break - no expeditions since summer 2018 because work is insane - but thinking I should start back again myself. Yep, just got back into it... well, I've been checking hashes for about a month or so now. I'm lucky to be in a position where I have a fair bit of free time and like using geohashing as an excuse to get out of the house, lol.
