After about 15 minutes of gravel road from Marysville we decided that this is about as close the the Geohash we could get by car. After some messing around with GPS enabled equipment, some swearing about the inaccuracies of Apple Maps we started our trek into the bush. It took us about 1 hour through very thick undergrowth and past burned trees to cover the 200m from the car to somewhere in the middle of the bush.

Getting there

After I could not think of anything better to do on such a lovely day, I decided to introduce coasttech to geohashing. (Well actually, I couldn't think of anything to do at all, so geohashing it is.)

We got there quite easy in my trusty 4WD via Eastlink and Maroondah Highway, followed Lady Talbot Drive from Marysville into the bush.

The Geohash

After about 15 minutes of gravel road from Marysville we decided that this is about as close the the Geohash we could get by car. After some messing around with GPS enabled equipment, some swearing about the inaccuracies of Apple Maps we started our trek into the bush. It took us about 1 hour through very thick undergrowth and past burnt trees to cover the 200m from the car to somewhere in the middle of the bush.

Fauna

AAAARGH!!! I wish I had a machete. That's about all I can say. And yeah, my arms still hurt from all the scratches and whatnot. It was a jungle nightmare, but certainly worth it.
