Near the center of town Ilmajoki, in the middle of a field.

Participants

Expedition

The road trip of Pastori and The Wife continues. The first hashvisit of the trip.

The wide open fields of Pohjanmaa.

On the morning the wedding took place the sun was still shining. We headed towards Ilmajoki about 15 km south of Seinäjoki, because there was still several hours before the festivities would began. The hashpoint for the Seinäjoki graticule was located near the center of Ilmajoki. The point was in the middle of a field, there was only about 100 meters of walking distance.

We put Nokia rubber boots on and the calls of pheasants in our ears we entered the field. In a jiffy Pastori became conscious of something - what's that smell? Someone had recently spread some well composted manure on the field. Avoiding the biggest clumps and only exhaling Pastori and The Wife inevitably closed the distance to the hashpoint until the gps showed zero point something meters. A really good accomplishment. Then we had to hurry towards some fresh air.

There are beautiful rivers, too.

There is a memorial of The Club War in the center of Ilmajoki. The memorial is a magnificent structure of cobblestones. This war was waged sometime in the 16th century. There in the museum district was already easier to breath and to ponder that if all nations on Earth geohashed every day, they would have less time to wage war.

The next day we started our journey home - by geohashing of course.
