Plans

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday's geohashes were all within just a few miles from me - a great opportunity. Unfortunately, on Friday I had taken the bus to work and couldn't drive a couple miles to the geohash in a post office parking lot, and on Saturday a brief thunderstorm sprung up just as I was about to leave. There was a group I was meeting with in New Brunswick on Sunday, but I was sure I could take in the geohash in Princeton on the way back. The point was in a front yard, so not publicly accessible, but visible at least.

Expedition

There was trouble as soon as I got to New Brunswick and found our group's meeting place, a grocery store, was soon to be kicked out for nonpayment of back rent; I bought myself an apple and sherbert, but found that it didn't come with a little spoon and the eating area no longer stocked spoons. As I hurried on to Princeton, my bicycle got a puncture (from a staple) and ruined my chance of reaching the geohash at 4:00. Also, my mother was not thrilled that her call from her son on Mother's Day came from the side of a road changing a flat tire.

It was actually only as I approached Princeton that I realized this could qualify for a Tron Geohash Achievement, so at least I picked up that with this deeply convoluted route: N on Scotts Corner Rd, E Broadway Rd, N->E Friendship Rd, N->E Culver Rd, NW->NE Georges Rd, NE Old Georges Rd, SE->NE Riva Ave, NW Main St/Milltown Rd, NE->N Georges Rd, NW Sandford St, NE Livingston Ave, NW Handy St, NE Joyce Kilmer Ave, E Paterson St, N Kirkpatrick St, E French St, NE Easton Ave, SW Somerset St, SW Route 27, SW Georgetown Franklin Turnpike, SW Crescent Ave, S River Rd, W Herrontown Rd, S Snowden Ln, NW Braeburn Dr (geohash) W Meadowbrook Dr, SW Terhune Dr, SE Harrison St, E Delaware and Raritan Canal Towpath, E Scudders Mill/Towpath connector, E->SE Scudders Mill Rd, E Plainsboro Rd, N Scotts Corner Rd, in the opposite side of the parking lot from the way I entered. Success.
