*Worldwide activity seems to have leveled off since 2010, maybe a slight decline YoY. A much larger fraction of the activity seems to be in Europe. I should research some hard numbers on that, I know they're available. | *Worldwide activity seems to have leveled off since 2010, maybe a slight decline YoY. - Started this log as a way to capture some thoughts on geohashing, as a sport, as a community, etc.
- Noticed something interesting today: geohashing started out as a college-age activity (as near as I can tell), but right now four of the most active geohashers are over 45 (i.e., older than I am).
- Rapidly approaching my 100th expedition. Okay, not so rapidly, but I'm sitting on 97 now. That being said, I was not one of the 100 most active geohashers in 2014. (eagerly awaiting the tabulation for 2013 :-) )
- Worldwide activity seems to have leveled off since 2010, maybe a slight decline YoY. A much larger fraction of the activity seems to be in Europe. I should research some hard numbers on that, I know they're available.
