Expedition
Dandelion Geohash!
I texted from the bus on my way home from work, and found that K&R were up for the trip, so I went straight home and we set out from there. K (not-much-used license) drove out and R (student permit) drove back.
We parked at the volunteer fire station just to the east of the meadow. We had to walk west along the road to get around a border of trees, which we noticed had a fence in it. I was momentarily worried that the whole meadow might be fenced but there was an inviting opening and apparent two-track farm road just where we needed it at the end of the border. There was even a lightly-treaded footpath around the edge of the meadow that led to within a couple meters of the hashpoint. Geohash Droid gave the green light while we were still in the open, but a very short diversion into woods got us to within less than a meter.
The meadow was full of dandelion seedheads and we all had fun with them. The girls made an XKCD marker out of them which we left near the hashpoint.
On the way home we called Susanne to place an order at the local pizza shop, so our expedition ended with a stop there to pick up dinner.
