I think we probably should use the south graticule when it's significantly closer. Would you rather drive here or here? --Middlerun 01:18, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
we should just choose the closest graticule to the CBD at all times (excluding the ocean). is there some way to automate this process? --rikkyc 01:59, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- yes. use your brain. it's very quick. it's fairly easy to determine what's the best place, and then we can post the official location on here. xkcd rules - that is, if there's any contention, the first person to post the location wins (unless they're being a dick). Weekends
We face a problem here: the Saturday information isn't available until very late Friday night. For a lot of us that's a bit late to be planning something the next day, especially if it's going to be a long drive or somewhere inaccessible. We face a dilemma: do we use the current situation, 4.00pm on Saturday? Do we use Thursday's data for a Saturday meet? Or do we meet Sundays, using Friday's data?
- I vote Sundays, because I have uni 12.00-4.00 on Saturdays :P. Gormster 01:20, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- I think we should use the Friday data because that's the official weekend data. So maybe Sunday would be best. --Middlerun 09:41, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- I vote Sundays, just for general convience's sake. --rikkyc 01:53, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- Sundays (with Friday data) for me, just because I'm booked out on Saturdays for the next month or so. DancingMan 12:02, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Blue Mountains
I made a Blue Mountains, Australia graticule page so that things are better separated. Please move things pertaining to that graticule to there. -- Moose Hole 00:06, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not really sure it's worth separating the two, as much of the info is shared, and half of Sydney lies West of the line. Also, with all the Blue Mountains being next to the railway (Bell's Line towns excluded), it's quite easy for us Mountaineers to attend a Sydney meet.--Andrew 06:01, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Previous Expedition Layout
I changed the layout of "Expeditions" and the title to "Previous Expeditions", as it looked like the ad-hoc layout would get unmanageable soon. I was going to post it here first, but once I did a test layout it looked so nice and easy, I didn't think anybody would object. If you do, feel free to tell me off (preferrably with a better layout suggestion).--Andrew 06:36, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
- I think I preferred the original date format, but separating them by year/month is a good idea. --Middlerun 07:04, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
- You may be right. I was having trouble distinguishing between 2008-05-22 and 2008-06-22 at first glance, but now they're separated out I may have gone too far.
